Today on our 2011 Acura MBX, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Beta. This is a tilting and folding 2-bike rack designed for use in 2-inch hitches. Its part number is B202-2. We'll do our test fit in real time today so you know exactly how long it's going to take or at least roundabout how long it's going to take to get your bike installed on your vehicle. We'll take the shank of the rack, slide it into the receiver tube of our hitch. We're going to want to line up our pinholes. more

Softride Dura Parallelogram Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Acura MDX- Video
Today on our 2011 Acura MDX we're going to be test fitting the Softride Dura Parallelogram. This is a tilting 4-bike rack designed for use in 2" hitches. Its part number is SR26247. Now to begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in we want to keep and eye through the window. As you can see, there's no holes on this side so we got the two holes on this side. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Acura MDX- Video
Today on our 2011 Acura MBX, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro. This is a folding 4 bike rack, designed for use in 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number TH934XTR. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide this in, we want to be sure that we get the pin hole that's in the rack, or the threaded hole in the rack, lined up with the pin hole in our hitch tube. With those lined up, we're now going to take our anti-rattle bolt, we're going to thread that in, and we'll tighten it down using our wrench. The closest point of the rack to the back of our Acura is going to be here. Looks like about 6 3/4 of an inch away. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow n Go Bike Rack Review - 2014 Acura MDX- Video
Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, well be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveller Tow n Go 3-Bike Rack, part number HR135. For todays test fit, we will be using the hidden hitch ball mount with an extra long shank, part number 80232, this ball mount is not included. Well begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch and securing it with the standard 5/8 hitch pin and clip, which is also not included. Youll notice that there is a lot of wobble within the hitch, but this wobble can be eliminated by purchasing an anti-rattle device. To load up a bike, well remove the black pin at the top of the mast and swing out our cradle arms. With the cradle arms out, were ready to load up a bike. Well undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles, and then secure it with the straps. more

Thule Helium Aero Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Acura MDX- Video
Today on our 2014 Acura MBX we'll be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero, Hitch-Mounted 2-bike rack, Part #TH9042. We'll begin by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After allowing the integrated hitch pin to fall into place we will then turn the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 18 1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 4 inches away and we've added about 19 inches to the overall length of our Acura. We'll now go ahead and lift up on the gray lever at the top of the mast and swing out our dual arms. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 28 inches to the overall length of our MBX. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we will be test fitting the Yakima StickUp Hitch Mounted Platform style 2 Bike Rack, part number Y02420. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and then tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the 2 fit together. We have about 14 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 5-1/2 inches away, and we have added about 14 inches to the overall length of our Acura. Now, we'll go ahead and pull the red pin at the base of the bike rack and tilt the platform down. With the bike rack in this position, we have about 17 inches of ground clearance, and we have added about 35 inches to the overall length of our MDX. With the bike rack in this position, you can see that we can easily access the rear hatch. more

SportRack Super EZ Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Acura MDX- Video
Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we'll be test fitting the Sportrack Super EZ Platform style Hitch Mounted 2 Bike Rack, part number SR2901LR. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using the wrench. Once it's tightened down, we'll secure it with a lock on the other side. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the 2 fit together. We have about 14 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 8 inches away, and we've added about 27 inches to the overall length of our Acura. To access the cargo area, we can pull the 3 pins at the base of the bike rack to tilt down the wheel trays as well as the mast. more

We'll now go ahead and remove the gold pin at the top of the mast, and swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 38" to the overall length of our MDX. To access the cargo area, we can remove the gold pin at the base of the bike rack, and tilt the mast down. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we'll be test-fitting the Thule Apex Swing hitch-mounted bike rack. Part number: TH9027. We'll begin our test-fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After allowing the inserter of the hitch pin to fall into place, we'll turn the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together: We have about 13" of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 3 and 1/2" away and we've added about 13" to the overall length of our Acura. We'll now go ahead and lift up on the gray lever at the at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 35" to the overall length of our MDX. To load up a bike, we'll simply undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles, and then secure it with the straps. Now, one great feature of the Apex Swing is that it has the ability to tilt out with the bike loaded. We can do this by loosening the black tee-handle at the base of the bike rack and lifting up on the black tee-handle with the gold post. This will allow us to swing the bike rack out and have access to the rear hatch. And with our bike all loaded up, that will complete today's test-fit of the Thule Apex Swing, Part number: TH9027 on our 2014 Acura MDX. . more

To begin our test fit, we've already gone ahead and removed the 2-inch adapter from our bike rack, so we'll slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With the bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 10 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 6 inches. We'll now go ahead and pull the hitch switch at the bottom of the bike rack mast to allow the mast to tilt down where we can the open our trunk. more

Two things to know about this bike rack, that it will work with inch and a quarter receiver hitches, both class one and class two, however when you use this with a class one receiver hitch, you are limited to carrying just two bicycles. Pro Series Q-Slot Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Acura MDX- Video
Today, on this 2012 Acura MDX, were going to do test fit of part number PS63134, the Pro-Series Q-slot Bicycle Carrier. A few things to know about this bike rack is that it will work with 1-1/4-inch receiver hitches, both class 1 and class 2. This will also work with 2-inch receiver hitches with the included spacer. Well start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch, then were going to install the hitch pin and clip. Next, well go ahead and unfold the bike rack and get a few clearance measurements. Clearance from the bumper to the bike rack would be about 9 inches. more

Softride Dura Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Acura RDX- Video
Today, on our 2012 Acura RDX, well be test fitting part number SR26247. The Softride dura parallelogram tilting 4 Bike Rack for both 1-1/4 and 2-inch hitches. Now, to begin our test fit, well simply slide our bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. We can then install our lock, securing our bike rack to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 11 inches, and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 1-1/4 inches. more

Yakima SwingDaddy 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Acura RDX- Video
Today on our 2012 Acura RDX, we'll be test fitting part number Y02422, the Yakima SwingDaddy 4 Bike Carrier for 2-inch hitches. Now, to begin our test fit, we'll slide our bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt, and this will secure our bike rack to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 10-1/2 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 2-1/2 inches. We can now go ahead and pull the switch at the top of the bike rack mast. This will allow us to bring out the dual arms where we'll undo the straps exposing the cradles. more

Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Acura RDX- Video
Today on our 2012 Acura RDX well be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Carrier for both 1-1/4 inch and 2-inch hitches, part number TH9029. Now to begin our test fit well simply slide our bike rack shank into the hitch using the included adaptor for the 2-inch hitches, we can then line up our hitch pin hole and install tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. Now our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. We can now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 11-1/2 inches and from the closet point of our bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 7-1/2 inches. At this point we can go ahead and pull the hitch switch at the bottom of the mast to tilt the mast down. more

Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Acura RDX- Video
Today on our 2012 Acura RDX, we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex 4 Bike Carrier for both 1-1/4 and 2-inch hitches, part number TH9025. Now, to begin our test fit, we've already installed the included adapter for the 2-inch hitch so we'll begin by sliding the bike rack shank into the hitch. We'll make sure that the integrated hitch pin is pulled where we'll slide it completely into the hitch and allow the pin to close into the hitch pin hole. We can then tighten down the anti-rattle knob here at the back of the shank, securing our bike rack to the vehicle. Now, well give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 11-1/2 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack mast to the back of the vehicle is 8 inches. more

Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2009 Acura MDX- Video
Today on this 2009 Acura MDX, were going to do a test fit of part number th990xt from Thule. This is Thules DoubleTrack Platform Style 2 bike carrier. We will start by installing the DoubleTrack in the 2 receiver hitch. This bicycle rack will work with inch and hitches, class one and class two. In this application we have a 2 bushing installed, because we will be using it in a class 3 receiver hitch. We will install it, line up the pin holes, and then install the snug tight lock. more

Yakima FlipSide 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2007 Acura MDX- Video
Today on this 2007 Acura MDX, we are going to do a test fit of part number Y02426 from Yakima. This is Yakimas FlipSide 4 bike hitch mounted carrier. Let us go ahead and fit the bike rack to the vehicle. Right now we are using the bushing for a 2 inch receiver. Line up the hitch pin holes. Thread in the anti-rattle bolt, which is a part of Yakimas RocSteady system. It does come with a tool to tighten it down with. However, a 3/4 inch wrench may be easier to use. Tighten it down snugly and then add the safety clip to the other end of the bolt. While we are at the bottom, we will go ahead and give you some measurements to give you an idea of ground clearance. On this particular vehicle, from the bottom of the hitch rack to the ground measures 13-3/4 inches. From the bumper to the rack at its narrowest point is approximately 4 inches. 0:55 more

Yakima DoubleDown 5 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2007 Acura MDX- Video
Today on this 2007 Acura MDX we are going to do a test set of part number Y02425 from Yakima. This is Yakimas DoubleDown 5 bike carrier. We are going to start off by installing the bike rack into our 2 inch receiver hitch. Right now we have the bushing installed for that application. However if you remove the bushing it will also work in a 1-1/4 inch receiver hitch Class II only. We will install our anti-rattle bolt into the rock steady hitch tongue. It just threads into place. Now it does come with a tool to tighten it down. However, a 3/4 inch wrench actually works pretty well in this application. On the other side of the bolt we will install our safety clip. 0:45 more

Rhode Gear Highway Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2007 Acura MDX- Video
Alright today on this 2007 Acura MDX we are going to do a test fit of part number RG8015220 from Rhode Gear. This is their Highway 2 bike carrier. Lets go ahead and start off by installing the bike rack into the hitch. Put it in line up the hitch pin holes install the anti-rattle bolt that just threads into place. We use a 3/4 inch wrench to help tighten it down. On the other side of the bolt we will install our safety clip. We are at the bottom of our rack we will give you some measurements and that will give you an idea of ground clearance. From the bottom of the bicycle rack to the ground on this particular vehicle is going to be 13-3/4 inches and from the edge of the bumper to the bike rack is going to be about 6 inches. 0:51 more
